The Junior Big Boat program is for the serious sailor who wishes to learn how to race big boats offshore. Sailors will learn big boat boat-handling, tactics, and navigation. Our Junior Big Boat team should be prepared to be on the water most of the day but can be in the classroom based on the forecast.
Late arrivals will not participate when practice is on the water. Classroom practices may end early.
All participants on the Jr Big Boat team are required to:
- Attend practice
- Notify Junior Big Boat coaches of an absence
- Take the JSA Navigation and Seamanship exam
- Attend the Safety at Sea Program at LYC
Schedule: Monday, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Wednesday, 6:00pm-8:30pm.
Ages: 14yrs-17yrs (must be at least 14yrs old in the calendar year)
