2020 Morning Program Bios

A.J. Albano – Morning Program Director
A.J. will be returning to RYC for his 18th summer at the club. In his first summer in 2004, AJ was the ‘games instructor’ for the Morning Program before transitioning to Pool Director for the next 8 summers. A.J. always had a desire to return to the Morning Program and he was able to 9 summers ago in 2013 as the Morning Program Director. During the school year, A.J. teaches Health and P.E. at New Canaan HS. Be sure to wave to A.J. every morning in the parking lot on your way in!

Cathy Ferraro - Tadpoles I
This will be Cathy's 10th year as the Tadpole's head counselor at RYC. Cathy taught preschool for 3 years, and is currently finishing her 6th year as a Special Education teacher for Stamford Public Schools. Cathy enjoys playing softball and volleyball, being outside, and spending time with family and friends! She is looking forward to another fun-filled summer at RYC.

Danielle Regginao - Tadpoles II
Danielle is very excited to be returning to RYC for her third summer. During the school year, she works as a second-grade teacher here in Greenwich and has worked in Greenwich Public School’s Summer School Program for the past five years. Danielle graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and continued on to receive her Master’s degree and teaching certification through the University of Bridgeport. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends at Tod’s Point or anywhere that she can enjoy the great outdoors. Danielle is looking forward to meeting her group and sharing a summer of memorable and meaningful experiences with them!

Jessica Gorman - Polliwogs I
Jessica is very excited to be joining the RYC team for her first summer! Jessica is an elementary education teacher in Stamford. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Pace University and a Master's in Elementary Education at the University of Bridgeport. She is a Stamford native who enjoys spending time with family and taking long hikes with her dog! She also loves to play basketball and beach volleyball any chance she gets. She is looking forward to meeting all of her campers and RYC families!

Jessica Lupinacci – Polliwogs II
Jessica Lupinacci will be back for her 2nd year at RYC as the Polliwogs II head counselor. Jessica is currently a 1st grade teacher at Davenport Ridge Elementary School in Stamford, CT. Jessica graduated from Penn State and then completed her Masters in Education at the University of Bridgeport. In her free time when she is not working with kids, Jessica loves working out, traveling, and baking. She is so excited for summer to begin!

Maria Florian – Minnows I
Maria is thrilled to join RYC’s Morning Program for her first year. She is a first grade teacher for Stamford Public Schools. Maria has worked as a summer school teacher for 3 years at nonprofit organizations such as Domus and Stamford Public Education Foundation. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development Family Studies and continued on to receive her Master’s degree and teaching certification through the University of Bridgeport. During her free time, Maria enjoys going on bike rides, reading and spending time with family and friends. Maria looks forward to having a fun summer full of enjoyable memories with her campers.

Reg Tucciarone– Flying Fish
Reg Tucciarone joins us for his 3rd summer at the RYC and he is excited to have the opportunity to go out on the water once again with the Flying Fish. Reg graduated from UConn and received his Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport. He previously worked as a counselor at Camp Playland in New Canaan, CT for seven years, and has spent the last year working as a Health Teacher at Saxe Middle School in New Canaan after working in Stamford Public Schools for many years. Reg can’t wait to meet his new group and have an enjoyable summer out on the water.

Tanya Striffler– Arts & Crafts Coordinator
Tanya is back at RYC for her 4th summer and will be once again heading our Arts & Crafts position. Tanya has worked at Pierce Country Day Camp in Roslyn, NY for over 10 years as a counselor and group leader. She has taught Pre-K in Roslyn, NY and Cos Cob, CT for a total of 8 years. Tanya has recently received her Masters in Elementary Education and spent the last year teaching in New Canaan Public Schools at West Elementary. Tanya is very excited to be back planning our Arts & Crafts activities for the summer.

Jeni Allen - Swim and Water Safety Coordinator
We are excited to have Jeni Allan back teaching swimming and water safety to our campers for her third summer. Jeni has a wealth of experience teaching toddlers and young swimmers throughout Greenwich. Previously, Jeni had been in charge of teaching swimming and water safety in the Pre-School 3s & 4s program at the YWCA of Greenwich. She is also a certified Lifeguard and Swim Instructor there as well. She loves children, especially her own 3 daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and spending time with her family.

Dan Sheldon - Grass and Games Coordinator
We are so excited to have Dan back to help us play games and enjoy our time on the lawn. Dan is currently an elementary school Physical Education Teacher for Seymour Public Schools, after teaching in Darien Public Schools for several years. Dan is a graduate of Ithaca College where he received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in PE and Health Ed, while playing on the varsity football team. Dan has strong experience working at a variety of summer camps and looks forward to continuing at RYC as the games coordinator!
